New Cloud-Based Iterative Image Reconstruction Service for Low-Dose CT Lung Cancer Screening to be Launched at in Chicago

Medic Vision and BRIT join forces to provide innovative cloud-based SafeCT service for enhancing image quality of low-dose CT lung images.

Nov. 20, 2013 – Tirat Carmel, Israel and Dallas, TexasMedic Vision Imaging Solutions, Ltd. ( and BRIT Systems, Inc.  jointly announced today that they have teamed up to offer a new cloud-based service supporting low-dose CT (LDCT) lung cancer screening.

The service allows any radiology department/practice to perform LDCT lung screening and obtain diagnostic-quality images without having to purchase and implement new Iterative Reconstruction technology at their site.

The new service is based on Medic Vision’s SafeCT® Iterative Image Reconstruction system and BRIT’s Roentgen Cloud™.

With this service, LDCT lung images are securely forwarded via https (No VPN required) to remote cloud-based SafeCT servers for immediate transformation into diagnostic-quality images.

Processed images are immediately sent back to the customer’s network via the secure link and forwarded to the customer PACS.

The processed images remain accessible via Roentgen Cloud to the provider, and optionally, to the patient.

The service is available at a pay-per-scan fee for CT scanners of all major vendors.

LDCT has recently garnered support from many major medical societies as the modality-of-choice for screening heavy smokers for lung cancer.

Several important studies indicate that the implementation of LDCT for lung cancer screening can save as many as 20,000 lives each year.

Medic Vision’s SafeCT uses proprietary, patented 3D iterative image reconstruction algorithms to enhance CT images acquired with low-dose protocols.

Today the add-on SafeCT is in routine clinical use at major hospitals and imaging centers nationwide, supporting CT scanner systems from all manufacturers, including GE, Philips, Siemens, and Toshiba.

BRIT’s Roentgen Cloud provides user-managed, virtual DICOM servers to individuals/organizations, enabling users to securely upload, store, share and view studies via any HTML-5 compliant browser.

Studies may also be viewed on mobile devices.
