Objective:

This session discusses the clinical manifestations and imaging assessment of acute, non-traumatic, aortic syndromes, including aortic dissection, intramural hematoma and penetrating atherosclerotic ulcer. The session also describes the technical considerations underlying the use of cardiac CTA and its utility in the assessment of coronary disease and non-coronary cardiac abnormalities. It highlights the role and added value of MR Imaging for the evaluation of cardiac masses, constrictive pericarditis, cardiomyopathies, and valvular heart disease.
