Objective:

This session has three sections. The first is Update on Nonaccidental Trauma, which discuss the various types of acute intracranial hemorrhage on both and MR. Attendees will understand the difference between vitamin D deficiency and rickets. This section also highlights the differential diagnoses in a child with multiple injuries. The second section, Blunt Abdominal Trauma: Current Imaging Approach, reviews common pitfalls associated with the CT evaluation of blunt abdominal trauma in children. It also discusses outcomes associated with solid viscous injury identified in children with blunt abdominal trauma. It finally reviews CT findings associated with bowel injury in children. The third section is Pediatric Knee MR Imaging. It recognizes more common overuse and stress injuries of the pediatric knee with emphasis on the physics. This section also identifies normal developmental findings on knee MR in children that may be confused with pathology. Attendees will understand unique features of juvenile osteochondritis dissecans.
